Wholesale Toys - Where to Find Wholesale Suppliers

Wholesale toys from wholesale suppliers can be found everywhere especially during the Christmas season. Customers track down every store offering wholesale prices. They buy in bulks to be sold again for profit. Different categories of toys, for children and adults, are abundant during the season. Online selling occupies a place in the toy industry because most customers prefer to browse the website rather than travel to shopping malls to buy their children's toys.

Dropshipping suppliers of toys are located in the toys section of every shopping mall. They stay together as if they are not competing with each other. A customer can buy an item in the neighboring shop if the first shop does not have a stock of that item. The shop owners don't mind. They even help each other and what is amazing is that they tag uniform prices for their products.

Online suppliers offer an array of different wholesale toys. A customer can explore the entire website by category to find the kind of toys he wants. It is suggested that online shopping be done every time you feel there is a need to do it. Browsing the internet without buying any item yet, is a healthy practice. You will be familiar with the site and the categories of the products they offer. During shopping seasons when you really are obliged to purchase the items you previously found, it will be much easier because you had visited the website several times.

Wholesale suppliers carry over 10,000 items which include wholesale novelties, wholesale toys, wholesale decorations and wholesale party favors. Some of these suppliers are also party retailers and entertainment centers. Bulk quantities of business needs which include gifts with purchase, brand identification campaigns, special events and parties, redemption center supplies, and kids' meal programs are offered to shoppers on wholesale basis.

Wholesale toys from known suppliers are free from phthalate and lead contents for the purpose of giving the children safe products for their toys. Suppliers are required to have their products meet or exceed applicable standards. Children's products are regularly tested and shipment of products is held until tests results meet federal safety requirements.

Must Have Pool Toys For Summer 2009

With summer right around the corner, you will find that it is already time for you to start looking into what pool toys you want to enjoy!   Everyone loves a calm and languid day at the pool, but unless you can put something new and fun in it, you may find yourself getting bored and fast.  When swimming laps get boring and when you have sunned yourself as long as your skin can take, what's the next step?  Consider what pool toys are going to be in this year, and think about how to make sure that your guests have fun and that your pool environment stays fresh and lively!

For instant fun and competition, think about getting dive rings.  Dive rings are essentially weighted, brightly colored rings that when thrown, head directly to the bottom of your pool.  Send your kids to the bottom of the pool and see who gets back to top first!  This is a great way to let them really show off their diving skills and to get them pumped about showing off what they can do.  By working with these great toys, you'll be able to see them improve both in terms of lung capacity and endurance.

When you just want to have fun on the water, think about what a water trampoline can do for you.  These tough as nails inflatable trampolines sit on the water's surface, inviting your kids to come bounce on top.  They can use it as a springboard to launch themselves in the water, or they can just use its natural buoyancy to give them that extra push up.  While this should be used with parents' supervision, especially in the case of younger children, you will find that its a great way to get your kids into the water.

If you want to see some motion in the water, think about introducing Dive and Rise Torpedo sharks.  With just a single motion of your wrist, you can get these small sharks to dive deep, glide and then rise to the surface, just like real sharks do!  You'll find that this is a great way to get younger children excited about playing in the water, especially when you find that these eight and a half inch wonders can can move up to twenty feet just on their own.  Send your kids chasing after them, or release five or six all at once for a real feeding frenzy.

When getting your kids to play together, you will find that you should check out the Pool Toy Lacrosse, Water Polo Set.  The water polo set comes with seven pieces, and with lasting PVC construction, you will find that it can stand up to years of competitive play.  With balls in two sizes, you are going to have a great time getting the whole family involved.

Consider what your options are and what you need to do to get ahead this summer when it comes to pool toys.

Imagiplay Wooden Children's Toys

ImagiPLAY Toys

Buying "green" products made from environmentally-sustainable, renewable resources has gotten easier and easier, thanks to a growing demand for these items and the availability of online shopping. Wouldn't it be wonderful if you could find toys that are made with "green" methods and are produced by fairly paid manufacturers? Thanks to ImagiPLAY Toys with Integrity, you can find a wide selection of toys you can feel good about buying for your child or giving as gifts.

The Company

The founder and president of ImagiPLAY, Barbera Aimes, studied language and music across the Unites States and In Japan before settling in Boulder, Colorado to establish her business. Barbera believes in the value of play and in creating positive change. Her goal is to "help children appreciate our world. " ImagiPLAY toys make available safe, earth-friendly toys that teach children the alphabet, counting, and eye-hand coordination, all while fostering imaginative play and teaching about the diverse animal species our world contains.

How the Products are Made

ImagiPLAY's toys are all made from environmentally-friendly products. You won't find plastics and other synthetics among their products, so you don't have to worry about lead and other toxins. ImagiPLAY uses primarily plantain-grown rubberwood from rubber trees grown in managed forests. This wood is not only beautiful, it is durable and splinter-free, and allows for the trees to have a "second life" after their sap-producing years are over.

Not only are the products made from earth-friendly products, but they are manufactured in a way that respects their makers: because the factories where these toys are produced are close to the places where the workers live, those who make these toys can maintain a healthy life/work balance.

So, not only can you rest assured that they products you buy are helping to sustain our earth, you can know that they are produced in a way that fairly treats the company's workers.

The Products

You'll find toys for toys for babies and toddlers, and beautifully crafted animal figures for older children available through ImagiPLAY. Their baby rattles are crafted from smooth, beautiful, managed forest beechwood, and polished with beeswax. Toddler push toys in a variety of shapes, from hybrid cars to ducks, are made of rubberwood so they are safe for your child and your floors.

Puzzles, blocks, and bead mazes, all made from earth-friendly wood, will entertain your toddler for hours. Check out the veggie cutting set, which allows toddlers to "cut" vegetables made from colorful wood and to reassemble new vegetable creations with Velcro.

ImagiPLAY's puzzle playsets are puzzles and figures in one. After your child takes apart the three-dimensional pieces of the rainforest puzzle, he will want to play endless imaginative games with the figures, learning about different species as he manipulates the colorful, easy to hold pieces.

Colorific Earth Puzzles and Natural Dream Puzzles are interlocking, three dimensional, wooden puzzles that will spark your child's interest in the animals they represent as well as teach him hand-eye coordination. Wooden playsets such as A Day in the Kingdom or a Day on the Farm feature characters and sets to foster imaginative play, all made from easy-to-hold, durable wood.

Room décor items are also available, featuring giraffe bookends and wild animal coat hooks. Collectible animal pairs feature zebras, wolves, lions, and other sets of wild animals in both natural wood and painted wood. These animals will be sure to spark some imaginative play and to encourage your child to learn more about the animals these toys inspired.

Warning! Your Child With ADHD May Benefit From a Play Date

Play dates are a common occurrence in the lives of most children. Kids want to have friends over and they want to visit the homes of their friends. Play dates give a child the opportunity to be a host and to learn to help their guest feel comfortable and welcomed. When visiting a friend's home, children learn how to maneuver around unfamiliar territory, work with another adult, and use their manners-thank you and please. But for some children with ADHD, spending time with friends can be difficult. If your child does not experience play dates, she is missing an opportunity to practice and hone her social skills.

Before a play date can be planned, you need to find a good playmate . Ask your child who he plays with at school. Talk with your child's teacher to discuss who plays with your child. You need the names of a couple of children so you can rotate them through the play dates. Initially, you want to invite one child over to your home. Group dynamics of more than one friend can make a get-together difficult for a child with minimal skills. Hold off on inviting multiple friends until your child is comfortable with playing one-on-one.

Now that you have some possible playmates, the next step is to plan the play date . Children who need to practice their social skills do not have the skills to maintain a play date solely on their own. Upfront planning by you will ensure a smoother time.

Keep the get-together short. Make sure you have an end time and that the other parent is prepared to pick up their child at an agreed upon time. Long play dates provide the children with more opportunities for breakdowns or to get bored. The friend should leave the play date wanting to return.

Plan a physical activity in case the children need to get outside and work off excessive energy. But keep it simple. You do not want activities that are so difficult that you need to be involved the entire time. Instead, preselect some age-appropriate things that you can suggest to the children, but that they can manage on their own. With summer soon arriving, the outdoor activities can include running through the sprinklers, playing with water guns, writing with sidewalk chalk, or making bubbles.

Schedule a snack time. Allow the two children time to sit, eat, and talk. Check if your child's friend has any food allergies or food restrictions prior to the get-together. Peruse your cookbooks and the web for fun and interesting snacks that the children can help prepare.

Prepare a craft project where the guest can bring something home. But make sure it's not too elaborate. You don't want a project that requires so much concentration that the two children do not interact. There are simple craft packages that you can find at your local crafts store. Check the web for inspiring activities.

You can also choose to let the kids play with a toy that you currently have at home. Go through your existing games, puzzles, and other toys for things that the kids can do together.

In addition to planning the activities, you need to prepare your child. Walk her through what the play date will entail. Anticipate any problems or issues that may arise and talk her through these. Make sure she is aware of the final activity so that she knows when the play date will end.

Prior to the play date, remove toys or items that may cause your child problems. For example, don't leave a Gameboy or PSP out where the children may want to play them. These are one player items and do not help your child to work on his social skills.

Pay attention during the play date, but do not become highly involved. You want to know what is going on in case you need to intervene during a misunderstanding or if the kids are having a problem finding something to do. Listening to the play date helps you to debrief your child later.

Once the friend has left, debrief your child. Praise your child for what went right. Discuss options for things that might have caused problems. Use what you learn to improve the planning process for the next play date.

Beware, having your child's friends over will be exhausting-for you! Things will go wrong. Things will go right. There will be times when you just don't feel like planning another activity. Try to keep the play dates fun and interesting. They are important for your child, but you don't want to burn out. You want to aim for success. Keep it small and keep it simple. Try to keep a sense of humor and your child's social skills will improve.

The Value Of Wooden Toys To Pre-School Children

Preschoolers are full of energy and curiosity and have a natural eagerness to learn. They have mastered many gross motor skills and are extremely active. By preschool age, most children have also acquired a strong grasp of language skills and place a great value on friendships. Because of their strong imaginations and wide range of interests, preschoolers usually most enjoy dramatic and creative play, as well as physical activities.

The best toys for preschoolers are sturdy and durable, and not likely to result in jagged or sharp edges if broken. Look for toys that are made of quality, nontoxic materials and are appropriate for your preschooler's age and skill level. Wooden toys are extremely durable, safe, and offer hours of educational, fun play time.

Toys that encourage physical play are great for preschoolers. The outdoors offer children a number of sensory learning opportunities so it is important to provide your preschooler with a selection of toys designed for outdoor use. Wooden toys like tricycles, wagons, and scooters are ideal for preschoolers' outdoor play. Miniature replicas of adult outdoor tools, like wheelbarrows and lawnmowers, are also a lot of fun at this age.

Most preschoolers have a lot of interest in constructive play, especially building projects with a finished product or specific goal. Wooden toys like blocks and jigsaw puzzles are perfect for preschoolers. Simple models and snap-together toys also provide preschoolers with hours of enjoyable play.

Preschoolers also need a good selection of toys that encourage dramatic play, or imaginative play. Miniature appliances, like wooden stoves and refrigerators, wooden doll accessories, like cradles and highchairs, and wooden play sets, like car garages and fire stations, are all quality toys for pretend play. Props to enhance play settings are also important. Play food, dress up clothes, and baby items like blankets and bottles can help your preschooler expand her imaginative play time.

Puppets offer all types of play benefits to preschoolers. Your child can address frightening situations through puppets or can use them as a healthy way to express her anger or frustration over a recent event. Puppet play also helps preschoolers to expand their vocabularies and develop social and emotional skills. Wooden puppet stages are available in several styles and sizes. Together with a variety of puppets, a puppet stage can provide hours of creative fun.

During the preschool years, most children begin to enjoy simple board and card games as well. Matching games and games with simple objectives like color recognition or counting are typically the most enjoyable games for preschoolers. Wooden toys [http://www.monkeyshine.co.uk/traditional-toys-21/wooden-toys-22] and games with simple scoring and only basic rules are great for teaching preschoolers to share and take turns, as well as develop fine motor skills and school readiness skills.

Scientific toys and working tools are also good choices for older preschoolers. Small hammers and screwdrivers allow children to practice building skills and develop more precise hand and eye coordination. Toy microscopes and telescopes invite young children to learn by exploring the world around them. Ring toss games and wooden toys for beanbag tossing are also fun games that help preschoolers develop hand and eye coordination, as well as fine and gross motor skills.

What's So Special About Bakugan Battle Brawlers? Dan and Drago, Warrior Friends & Bakugan Toys

So, what's so special about Bakugan?

First of all, the spelling is kind of a mystery. Especially when you don't have it in front of you. How would you spell it? It's a little tricky, isn't it? A little intriguing.  Even I spell it wrong (backagone, bacagon, etc.). But kids know exactly how to spell it.

Secondly, the whole thing is just plain addicting. The show, those "balls," the characters. You can't have just one.  They come in many bright colors, sizes and shapes. They open to different characters and shapes, that look cool. Most kids have at least 10. You need 3 to battle.

If you ask any kid in grade school (2nd, 3rd, 4th grade and up) you'll get your answer.  Bakugan Battle Brawler toys are so irresistible and catching on quick - so quick in fact, that they are the new Pokemon in my opinion. And better. Besides being able to battle with them yourself - roll them around on the table, you can battle with your friends at recess, "they're portable," and can fit in your pocket, purse or backpack. And like Pokemon, practice math at the same time. A new more sophisticated, higher tech Pokemon. There are cards, "balls" or battle brawlers, and action figure characters. And of course, a tv show, dvd and cool chapter books. There is a battle arena which is great for playing at home, and many toys that are coming out on a regular basis. They sell out every morning at our local Target, so the best place to buy them is online.

So, what is Bakugan all about? Just throwing some plastic balls onto a card and playing the game?

No! Not just, and only that...there's much more to it. There's a whole entire world of Bakugan, a whole story that goes along with it.  Dan and his friends are ultimately trying to save the earth, and the parallel universe Vestroia from the Bakugan monsters, so they Battle and fight to win. Dan and his young warrior friends initially thought the cards they found and battled with were just a fun game but the characters on the cards were Bakugan monsters with their own agenda and it's become a race to restore peace throughout the universe.

The graphics for Bakugan are outstanding. Eye catching colors and designs of the characters and setting are so cool and outrageous. Think Fantasy purples, reds, blues and greens, foreign territory and outer space. The posters look just as awesome as the cards and tv show. They will definitely transform your room or playroom.

So, if your looking for something fun, fantastic and a little different this year for Christmas....you'll know just what to get. And, don't forget the stocking stuffers.

Gender Roles And Toys

Since the conception of children's toys the existence of gender roles has been prominent. Boys should get trucks and cars and girls should get dolls and tea-sets, however, one is forced to look at this belief with a little more criticism in the more modern times of today. What is the major issue with a boy who likes to play with dolls or the girl who likes to play with cars? Perhaps not so much for the girl who plays with cars but for the boy who likes to play with dolls he is pigeonholed as being a homosexual child...but who makes these rules? Who decides that boys should not be allowed to play with dolls? The truth of the matter is that we, as a society do.

There are no repercussions that come with a boy who plays with dolls, other than the social isolation that is forced upon him by society. A boy that plays with dolls and a girl that plays with cars and trucks are nothing more than children exploring toys; they are not yet old enough to understand the cubbyholes and labels we like to force on to each other as a society. For some unexplained reason it is believed that the mere action of playing with a set of toys one will become more or less masculine or feminine when this is simply untrue.

There was a time in our history as a race that being increasingly masculine or feminine was the norm, little girls were expected to wear only frilly dresses and stay at home in the kitchen (a la "barefoot and pregnant" stereotype), and little boys were expected to wear suits and go off to work each day to bring home the bacon for the family. As times have changed these are no longer the "norms" of society however, we still push on to our children the repercussions of not sticking to those norms. Are we really afraid of our children becoming less than the gender roles we were expected to be?

The unfortunate aspect of the fact that we push such expectations on our children is that we are not allowing them the freedom to be who they want to and perhaps were destined be. We are pushing on to them the expectation that they should at least be A and not B which in essence shapes them to pursue certain paths in life instead of allowing them the tabula rasa that all children really should be permitted. It is not the fault of the toys nor the children; however, it is the fault of society as a whole for shaping us to be such a judgmental race when faced with people and ideas that do not fit the "norm" of hundreds of years ago.

So how do we rid ourselves of this self imposed cubby-holing that is stunting the emotional growth and general accepting nature of our world's future generation? Give your son a Barbie or two and let your daughter play with a monster truck or wrestling figure once in a while, it's not going to kill them and nor is it going to make them something less than what they already are: innocent children with a brand new slate ready for writing.

Responsibility for quality toys falls on the shoulder of the parents. Merely buying what one sees in toy stores, without careful thought, is not a good practice. Many cases have shown that kids' toys can also be dangerous. There are times when the materials used in making the toy are not safe for humans; there are times when the design poses some physical danger; and there are times when the type of toy suggests violence, which is dangerous to the psychological make-up of the child.

Cheap Educational Toys

The market today is flooded with a number of educational toys both branded and locally manufactured. Educational toys are very popular among parents, as they provide a good medium to educate their children. No matter how rich or poor, parents want to purchase educational toys for their children. However, the high price tags restrain many people from buying them. The offer of cheap educational toys by retailers and shopkeepers has been a solution to this dilemma.

Many companies on the Internet offer cheap rates on educational toys. Their web sites carry details of the products such as the toy description, learning objectives, pictures and prices. Customers typically register on these sites, place an order and pay online. There are also companies that provide toy rental services at affordable rates. Toys can be rented on a monthly basis.

There is a wide range of inexpensive, quality educational toys for children who are as young as three months. Wooden toys are a favorite with parents as they are cheap, safe, durable and high quality. Cheap educational toys also include storybooks, learning activity kit, construction toys, puzzles, craft kits and baby toys. Books, games or animated movies are also categorized as educational toys and are available at cheap rates. The most popular categories of toys among little children are organic stuffed animals, dolls, block-games, cars, and wooden toys. They are carefully designed and crafted to help shape young minds.

Social service organizations that concentrate on children?s welfare believe that it is essential to regulate the prices of toys and make them affordable for everyone.

Popular Extreme Toys For The Kids

Not every kid out there finds the skateboard or roller blades to be the most fun for them to ride. Although the popularity of the two sports are growing tremendously and are extremely fun within their own right, this article is about the other types of extremely fun boards out there. The extreme sport era is here and it is here to stay, so many other toys are being created to fulfill the urge to live extreme. First let us talk about the ever popular kick scooter. Scooter riding used to be for the kid who could not skate. Now you can check out kids doing 720's and back flips on scooters at YouTube. The extreme has taken over kick scooters. Even if you cannot do a flip on the scooter they are being built today to be able to do some insane freestyle tricks as well as ride them on ramps. You cannot drive by a local skate park anymore without seeing some kid riding a kick scooter. Not only riding one but a lot of the time they are showing off just like the best skaters are. A kick scooter is a blast to ride and unlike some of the other popular boards you can pretty much open up a scooter jump on and ride. They are very easy to learn but just like anything they take a lot of time and practice to master.

Another hot board on the market right now is the caster board. The two most popular caster boards are the Ripstik and the Wave Board. These boards are designed so that the rider's feet never have to touch the ground. There are only two wheels and the boards completely twist and bend, purposely. Not only that but you can ride these boards at very fast speeds as well as stay balanced going slower then any board or scooter out there. You can make very tight and deliberate turns with the caster board. Riding down a street with people walking, you can just as easily weave through the people on your caster board as you can walk, the balance is amazing. Not only for just riding on the street but on these boards you can ride ramps, and bust out some incredible skateboard style tricks. One draw back is that you can only ride the board in one direction, but that does not stop you from doing kick flips, manuals, ollies, acid drops, hang nines, and tons more awesome tricks. I one time saw someone balance on a 137 foot curb and ride the whole thing. It was awesome. These boards are amazingly versatile, and you will find that you want to bring them wherever you go. It becomes easier to ride a caster board then walk after a while.

These are just a few of the new extreme styles of riding out there for young people. There are always new and inventive toys to look out for. Extremely fun and exciting to ride boards that you may have never tried are right around the corner. Give them a shot because you will probably find that you love them.

Toys - Tonka

Tonka Toys. Even the name sounds tough. And make no mistake about it. Tonka toys were tough, especially back in the good old days when toys were made to last, or as they would say in their TV commercials, "They're made Tonka tough". Yes, every tough kid had to have his Tonka truck. So when did this all start? How long has Tonka been cranking out these tough trucks?

Tonka started in 1947. The first trucks were made by a company called Mound Metalcraft. The company was located in Mound, Minnesota in a very small warehouse. No, this wasn't what you would call a big business when it began. The company itself actually specialized in manufacturing garden tools, which had to be tough. Taking that some technology and approach, they began making some of the toughest trucks ever put together.

In their first year alone, Mound Metalcraft manufactured over 37,000 of these tough trucks. This in spite of the fact that they only had two designs. The two designs were a steam shovel and a crane. Oh and in case you're wondering, the word Tonka means "great" in Sioux.

After World War II Tonka trucks became very popular with post war families. The demand for these trucks was so great that it far outweighed production. A year of the company's inventory would be sold out in just a few months.

The whole premise of the Tonka company and one that they refused to ever compromise on, was that their toys should be durable and give your child as much play time as possible out of them. They felt that there was no reason their toys shouldn't last for many years. And they did.

In the almost 60 years since the first Tonka toys were made, over 250 million of them have been sold. To this day, their vehicles are made to withstand just about anything you can throw at them. What began as just two trucks has grown into a whole line of trucks and playsets.

Over the years there have been some milestones in the Tonka legacy. It took over 17 years since their first truck, but in 1964 the most popular truck that they ever made, the Mighty Dump, came into existence. No truck of theirs ever sold more units. Between 1965 and 1972 was what was called the "Mighty Age". This is when the Tonka Mighty Series grew tremendously, giving us titles like the Mighty Clam, Crane, Shovel, Scraper, Car Carrier, Bulldozer, Wrecker, Hydraulic Dump, Roller, Bottom Dump, Mixer, Loadmaster and Grader. These were some of the most popular trucks ever.

Between 1973 and 1982 Tonka added more vehicle categories. This period of time gave us the Rescue Vehicle, Car Carrier, Forklift, Earth Mover, Adventure Buggy and, believe it or not, the Mighty Winnebago.

Over the next 25 years Tonka continued to produce quality products and new additions such as Chuck My Talking Truck, the first talking Tonka Toy.

Tonka promises to come out with trucks that are even tougher than the ones made almost 60 years ago.

That is going to be a tough act to follow.

Why Cats Need Toys

Cats are hunters by nature that's why they love playing with cat toys, it's one of the ways domestic cats practice their hunting skills. When we think our cats are playing, usually they are using toys for mock hunting games. Cats are naturally inquisitive, so a new object is a reason to explore, and if it moves all the better.

Cats enjoy toys that move the best. Anything that makes noise when played with, or can be pounced on will make great cat toys. To help with hunting your Cats eyes are tuned towards movement. The slightest movement will get a cats attention and encourage it to pounce. As a general rule Cats prefer toys much smaller than themselves. Although small toys are preferred, it is best to ensure that the toys aren't so small they can be swallowed. Small items can cause permanent damage to a cat's digestive track or other soft tissue, or worse choking.

There is no need to spend lots of money on cat toys, but having a variety will keep your cat interested, simply leave a few around for pussy to play with and then rotate with
another set of cat toys when your cat becomes bored of them. By doing this cats will think they always have "new" cat toys to play with.

If your cat is a "house cat" providing cat toys is an important part of being a responsible cat owner. House cats tend not to get as much exercise as their feline counterparts that explore outside. So play provides valuable extra activity which will help keep house cats healthy. These periods of play will also help keep the indoor cats mind occupied and stop anxiety bought on by boredom.

We're all familiar with Cat toys based on string with a small object attached to the end. Simply lay the string out and gently twitch so the toy on the end moves to get your pet's attention. Usually these toys have a hoop on the end so they can be hung on a doorknob so that your cat can keep themselves occupied. Dangling the toy in front of your cat will encourage them will encourage them to swat the toy and attempt to pounce.

Lightweight Balls are also a great cheap way of providing a toy that a cat can play with without your help. The noise made as they skip across the floor will keep your cat's attention and they love to swat them with a paw to get the ball to move. Your cat will practice "stalking" the ball as it is still, and then pounce when it feels ready. Rubber balls tend to be more durable and just as good to for encouraging play, but it is important to ensure that the balls don't taste bitter. Simply clean the ball in warm soapy water and rinse afterwards, test the taste by placing the tip of your tongue on the end of the ball. If there is any bitter taste at all ten the ball is not safe for your cat.

Cats will enjoy playing with small soft stuffed toys, they will bat them round or pounce on them. Often these can be purchased with the stuffing containing catnip. We all know that catnip can drive cat wild and really get their attention. These toys will usually get even the laziest of house cats moving.

Homemade Toys

How often have you seen this happen around the holidays? The parents have spent a small fortune on the latest, greatest toy. After a few grins and giggles, the parents take the toy out of its huge box and proceed to put it together. In the meantime, the child finds the box to be quite fascinating. By the time the toy is fully put together, the child is so engrossed in the box that he or she has no desire to play with the expensive toy.

This scenario is replayed in house after house across the country. The lesson is, children are easily entertained and homemade toys can be created from every day materials that can easily keep their attention. Here are some ideas for easy to create homemade toys.

One idea for a homemade toy is a cardboard box car. Take a large cardboard box and cut a hole in the top and cut out the bottom. Decorate it like a car, using paper plates for the wheels and steering wheel. Your child will enjoy "driving" this car around the house!

Create a hand made bubble blower out of a toilet paper roll. Wrap the roll with aluminum foil. Make the bubbles by mixing liquid dish soap with water. Dip one end of the roll in the mixture and blow gently through the other end. You should be able to easily create very large bubbles!

Create a scoop ball game out of a one-quart plastic milk jug. Cut the jug in half and save the handle side. Toss a ball back and forth and use the jug to catch the ball.

Model planes can be made out of the Styrofoam trays that meat is packaged on. Cut out a body, wings and tail shape. Use a knife to cut a slit in the body for the wings and tail. Because the Styrofoam is so light, these planes can soar for a decent distance.

A personalized homemade toy is the homemade puzzle. Have your child create a drawing or other piece of art. Glue the artwork to a piece of cardboard. After it is dry, turn the cardboard over and trace out puzzle piece shapes. Carefully cut out these shapes. Your child will have fun putting together his own artwork. Store the puzzle in a Ziploc bag.

A homemade beanbag toss game is another fun and active toy to create. Take a sturdy piece of cardboard and cut holes in it to make the targets. Be sure the holes are large enough that the beanbag will fit. Then make some beanbags. Take scraps of material and fill them with beans or pasta. Hand sew them shut. Have your child decorate the target and assign points to the holes. Then have fun tossing the beanbags at the target!

Whatever toy you decide to make, be sure to include your child in the process of making the toy. Not only will you create a fun toy, but you will also create life-long memories with your child. Using what would be trash to make a fun toy also helps to protect our environment.

Ride On Toys - Traditional Toys With Endless Possibilities

Ride on toys have been a magical part of childhood for generations. For decades, these traditional toys have empowered little legs and young imaginations to explore all sorts of adventures, from driving to the grocery store and changing the oil to racing across a track like a professional race car driver. Whatever the adventure, ride on toys have been a childhood necessity for generations.

Available in all sorts of styles and designs, these toys are ideal for toddlers who are quickly developing control over their large muscles and beginning to walk. During this stage of development, most children are growing at a rapid rate and are learning new skills at the same speed. Ride on toys encourage the natural tendency to explore and, at the same time, enhances early creativity.

Developmental Benefits of Traditional Ride On Toys

Ride on toys, like many traditional toys, offer children a well rounded play experience that addresses most of the critical areas of childhood growth and development.

- Physical development is enhanced as little ones test the power of their legs with the classic foot to floor operation of traditional ride on toys. While most of the physical benefits of these toys are concentrated on gross motor skills, fine motor skills can also be developed by incorporating games with small blocks and toys to pick up on the go.

- Cognitive skills are built when children test the many different ways they can push, pull, or drive their toy. They will also experiment with the size and shape of the toy in relation to its surroundings as they manoeuvre through obstacles like people and furniture.

- Social and emotional skills are also a part of play time with ride on toys as kids come and go, interacting with others as they imagine.

- Language can be enhanced through these traditional toys as well. Children may learn new words, make new sounds, and even create stories around their play, expanding their vocabulary and their experiences.

Ride on toys are favourites for parents because of the rich educational value, but are just as popular among toddlers and early preschoolers because of the tremendous amount of fun they provide. Today's best ride on toys are designed much like those of many years ago, offering strong, durable construction from high quality wood.

Types of Ride On Toys

Boys and girls alike have been long time fans of these traditional toys [http://www.monkeyshine.co.uk/traditional-toys-21], although originally ride on toys were designed with boys in mind so they could imitate dad with the family car. Today, ride on toys can be found to fit every little personality and interest, from little red fire trucks and colourful choo choos to classic hobby horses and trikes.

Ride on toys are beloved traditional toys that have helped generations of children enjoy play time. Toddlers everywhere continue to be fascinated with the magic of their own wheels. Ride on toys enhance creativity and build the muscles your child will soon use to pedal. These are the ideal training toys for pedal cars and bikes and promise hours of fun for your toddler.
